Au low voltage ref spectra

Try to take spectra from Au/foil Cu110 sample. Go to 3 kV, after previous work at 10 kV. Max current mode, tweak settings. At first poor counts/shape below ~ 150 eV, also 'strange' octopole settings for 30 degree tilt. Expected ~ 49,50. Instead ~ 46 60.

At first afraid residual magnitization/hysteresis from higher kV operation. Did aes images slits open, DAC scale only 0.1 V no offset at 60 volts CRR 5. Signal seems strongly dependent on exact angle/height of Au foil. Shift sample position, watch AES images, Octo settings make sense.

file Au low V ref.aes

Recover spectra similar to previous "nice" spectra. Record references different CRR and CAE. Notice LV cutoff changes as 5->10->20. May be artifact since 5 eV smallest pass, so 100 eV minimum voltage for CRR 20...

next switch to Cu. Record Cu low V ref.aes

record similar series. On flat sample max counts octo 47.5, 50.0
